SYSTEM CARB PLUS

Carburizing is a thermochemical heat treatment process for hardening steel components in which the surface hardness is increased by the addition of carbon. The aim here is to increase wear resistance in order to achieve a longer component service life. Low-pressure carburizing in the vacuum furnace with the CARB PLUS system is carried out using acetylene. This case hardening process is carried out at low pressures and temperatures in the range of up to 1070°C. Benefit from the man advantages of low-pressure carburizing compared to conventional carburizing processes!

ADVANTAGES FOR YOUR COMPONENTS

  • Uniform carburizing and case hardening depth results on the entire component, even in the narrowest bores and complex geometries
  • Reduction of component distortion due to controllable overpressure gas quench
  • Metallic bright surface result
  • No edge oxidation

ADVANTAGES FOR YOUR PROCEDURE

  • Homogeneous carburization even with massive, densely packed batches
  • Excellent reproducibility of process results
  • Fully automatic, unmanned process with low-pressure carburizing, gas quenching and tempering in one furnace plant
  • Shortening of carburizing times through realization of higher process temperatures in vacuum technology

COST AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADVANTAGES

  • No powder support – Separate cleaning processes for the removal of powder residues are eliminated
  • Washing processes such as after salt bath treatment or oil quenching are also not necessary due to dry gas quenching
  • Short, efficient process times with lowest energy requirements
  • Low process gas consumption
  • Lowest effort for rework due to the distortion-minimized, bright heat treatment result
